Molluscum contagiosum is a common and quite contagious viral infection affecting mainly school-age children. It appears as small, sometimes itchy raised spots anywhere on the body, but mostly on the face and upper body, armpits and behind the knees. Although not dangerous, molluscum can be quite unsightly and distressing to both child and parents. Sometimes the child is banned from public bathing areas because of it. Scarring, dermatitis or skin infections can sometimes result from the infection.

Molluscum also occurs in adults and is usually, but not always, sexually transmitted.

Molluscum Contagiosum (warts) is caused by virus known as the molluscum contagiosum virus, which can be spread through direct or indirect contacts.

Lesions are usually present on the thighs, buttocks, groin and lower abdomen of adults, and may occasionally appear on the external genital and anal region. Children typically develop lesions on the face, trunk, legs and arms. Lesions may begin to appear as small bumps, which can develop over a period of several weeks into larger sores/bumps. The lesions can be flesh colored, gray-white, yellow or pink. They can cause itching or tenderness in the area, but in most cases the lesions cause few problems. People with AIDS or others with compromised immune systems may develop extensive outbreaks.

The molluscum virus generally spreads via direct contact from person to person (e.g. from family members or other infected people, with whom they swim or bathe). The incubation period can vary between about 2 to 24 weeks. The condition itself, if left untreated will eventually disappear, but this could take up to 2 years or more.

Molluscum, being a virus, can not be cured by drugs. Wheatgrass however, is not a drug, it is a herbal extract which has been shown to be a potent but safe, immune-modulator. In other words, it "powers-up" the patient's immune system to clear out the virus. Topical application alone can treat the virus, however, adding daily oral ingestion of wheatgrass or wheatgrass extract could be reasonably expected to accelerate clearing of the virus by boosting the patient's immune system even further. Wheatgrass can also safely be applied anywhere on the body including the genital area.

Scientists have learned that Grass Juice Factor, a powerful growth and fertility factor, is most likely the most important biological active in wheatgrass. This factors have, probably by the stimulation of human growth factors, a powerful effect on the regeneration of damaged skin and the body in general, hence improve the immune system.

I am a ER nurse and mother of 3. Almost 1.5yrs ago my oldest child had a small bump on her lower back, I went and asked our peds doctor who told me it was a "cyst" and not to worry. All 3 of my children showered together in the evening, so when my 3rd child started getting the SAME type of bumps on her back... I went back in and asked AGAIN what they were. Granted Molluscum is a virus and it takes time to go away and for the immune system to :fight it off", I could tell a huge difference even the first few days=== the Molluscum bumps would start to dry out and shrink (the small ones) and the larger ones would get "angry" and open off--- the healing phase!!!! and go away. Even after the Molluscum is gone, the dark "old" spots take time to heal and fade. But their skin is smooth after. We use the Dr Wheatgrass Superbalm twice a day AND the Supershots at night (mix it in a small cup of juice). I sometimes use the Dr Wheatgrass Skin Recovery Spray on days when my kids what to go to bed "real" fast and not want me to rub the cream on them (I use q-tips to apply on the kids to avoid spreading)--- I also wash their pajamas AND bath towels daily to avoid spreading.

My daughter started off with one on her ankle in which she had for months and it never spread but I just wanted it removed because I didn't like the look of it. I took her to the Dermatologist and they froze it off with Beetle Juice and was very painful hours later for my daughter. All of the sudden no lie she started getting a ton of them all over her foot and near the area in which they just froze her one off. I feel like ever since we got the one removed it triggered something and more started to multiply. I went back to get them frozen off again and they said every time you see more just bring her back. You can either leave them alone and they will eventually go away in a year up to 2 yrs or you can do the beetle juice/nitrogen. They said everyone (child) has them and are highly contagious! Just recently I don't know why but I went online to research this Molluscum and to my benefit I found your website!!! I never usually leave reviews good or bad but I feel like doing so this time around is a MUST, especially if it can help another family dealing with Molluscum. We were told my son had Molluscum last July and that there was nothing we could do about it except to wait it out and it will go away on its own. Well 9 months later, there was no sign of those horrible bumps clearing up instead they were spreading everywhere! I tried everything I read online, Apple cider vinegar, tea tree oil etc. We even began discussing the option of having them frozen off, which hurt my heart just thinking about, but we were so desperate at that point. I am delighted with the skin recovery spray in relation to Molluscum Contagiosum. My daughter had this condition for approximately 4 months and I mistakenly thought it was dermatitis. The GP advised it was Molluscum and that it could last up to 2 years and we just had to let it run its course. I sprayed the lesions twice daily and it very quickly became red and angry and spread rapidly. I continued on and at the 4-week mark I noticed the first sign of improvement; a few of the worst lesions had disappeared just leaving a slight marking on the skin.
